The primary purpose of this position is to serve as case manager for vocational rehabilitation students who are referred to WorkSource East by their Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors.
WorkSource East provides vocational skills training which is a specialized field of rehabilitation.
He/she works closely with other rehabilitation personnel, outside agencies and the community to address the client's total rehabilitative needs.
Job responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing the student's vocational training plan Providing support, guidance, and oversight during all phases of vocational skills training from admission to discharge Documents service provision and maintains client records Selected applicant needs to have the means to travel as the job requires.

gov/work-for-nc/how-do-i-get-job Considerable knowledge of the fundamental principles, techniques, and methods of the rehabilitation process to include assessment, evaluation, counseling, and goal development Ability to counsel students on variety of disability related issues, documenting sessions, amending plans, writing behavioral contracts and making referrals to other disciplines as needed, including community-based mental health providers Ability to work directly with individuals with various disabilities Ability to develop written individualized rehabilitative (training) plans following review of referral data, the vocational evaluation and other pertinent diagnostic information Ability to implement the individual's plan and monitors the student's progress towards stated goals and objectives Ability to communicate and coordinate all services with the rehabilitation team, outside agencies, the community and the student's family Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Must possess good judgment skills.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
