Simmons Early Intervention Therapy (SEIT) is a well-established pediatric therapy company that provides services for young children.
SEIT services help young children grow and develop while supporting their families in caring for them.
Our mission to put the child FIRST has led to a strong relationship with various community partners.
As we continue to grow and expand, we saw a need to add adult services to our agency.
We are excited to now offer substance abuse, counseling and peer support services to the teen and adult population.
As such, we are in need of several Peer Support Specialists to join our growing team.
Peer Support Services (PSS) are an evidenced-based mental health model of care that provides community-based recovery services directly to an adult diagnosed with a mental health or substance use disorder.
Peer Support provides structured, scheduled services that promote recovery, self determination, self advocacy, engagement in self-care and wellness and enhancement of community living skills of individuals.
Peer Support Services are provided one-on-one to the individual or in a group setting.
Providing one-on-one support to the individual builds on the relationship of mutuality between the individual and CPSS; supports the individual in accomplishing self-identified goals and may further support the individual's engagement in treatment.
A copy of your Certification must be on file.

Knowledge of peer support principles, values ethics.
2.
Ability to share a lived experience to support, encourage and enhance an individual's treatment and recovery.
3.
Possess recovery oriented skills and knowledge to provide peer support services.
4.
Ability to collaborate with the Program Supervisor or QP to assess their own strengths and areas of growth and develop a supervision plan.
5.
Ability to model and mentor recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal actions to encourage wellness and resilience for individuals served to promote a recovery environment in the community, residence, and workplace.
6.
Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to conditions that constitute an Emergency to include both physical and behavioral health crises utilizing the emergency response procedure of the employer.
7.
Ability to provide support to the individual in navigating systems (medical, social services, or legal.
8.
Ability to promote self-advocacy by facilitating each individual's learning about his or her human and legal rights and supporting the individual while exercising those rights to support the empowerment of the individual.
Documentation provided by CPSS:
Ability to record Notes for the services and being able to document the nature and course of the individual's progress in treatment.
The documentation must be consistent with the requirements contained in the policy.
The staff member who provides the service is responsible for documenting the services billed.
The service note must contain:
The purpose of the contact as it relates to the Person Centered Plan Description of the intervention provided.
Documentation of the intervention must accurately reflect treatment for the duration of time indicated.
Duration of service, start and end time of intervention and the amount of time spent performing the intervention.
Assessment of the effectiveness of the intervention and the individuals progress toward the individual's goal.
The staff member should sign and date the written entry.
The signature must include credentials for professionals or job titles for associate professionals.
A Supervisor or QP will countersign service notes written by staff who do not have QP status within 48 hours of service delivery.
Expected Outcomes from The Peer Support Program:
Increased engagement in self-directed recovery process; Increased natural and social support networks Increased ability to engage in community services Increased ability to live independently as possible and use recovery skills to maintain a stable living arrangement; Higher levels of empowerment and hopefulness in recovery Improved emotional, behavioral and physical health Improved quality of life Improved vocational skills Decreased substance use Decreased frequency or intensity of crisis episodes; or Decreased use of crisis services or hospitalizations.
SEIT is looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialist who can serve the Wayne County area.
A PEER SUPPORT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED! NO EXCEPTIONS! Job Types:
