Best Distributing is seeking an experienced Credit professional to join our Credit Team in Goldsboro, NC.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Establishes and monitors customer credit limits, handles special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment within company policies.
Manage assigned AR portfolio through direct involvement with customers and internal resources.
Monitor and update Credit information to existing customer base.
Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external customers
Mitigate bad debt losses while proactively helping the Company to maximize profitable sales
Visit customers and branch teams to solidify relationships and to promote sales opportunities
Partner with Third Party Collection Agencies to collect AR for financially distressed customers
Negotiate and secure payment arrangements for delinquent accounts
Education and
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Minimum of five years relevant experience in wholesale distribution or construction industry
Knowledge of collection laws including mechanics lien laws
Knowledge of payment bonds for municipal, state and federal projects to file bond claims
Knowledge of sales tax laws
Knowledge of financial statements and risk assessment
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
SKILLS:
Strong skills in the areas of oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, and problem resolution
Must be proficient with MS Office products (with an emphasis on EXCEL), Internet, and Outlook programs; general computer literacy required.
Must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality
Must be willing to work extended hours to meet department goals
Demonstrated ability to independently make sound business decisions
Demonstrated ability to perform and adapt in a changing environment as necessary (Stress/tolerance/flexibility)
Ability to gather, monitor and interpret document data
Knowledge of credit principles, practices and laws
Ability to recognize financial implications of business decisions and strategy
Ability to maintain good public relations with external and internal customers.
Must be a US Citizen or be authorized to work in the US
