This position will report to the Director of Purchasing located in Goldsboro, NC.
The Responsibilities Include:
Provide analytical support for sourcing, purchasing, pricing and inventory projects, including data collection, data analysis, score carding and supplier market research.
Assist and/or lead process improvements to address key program challenges and to increase our ability to deliver upon our commitments.
Participate in the execution of special initiatives to fulfill customer commitments.
Provide day-to-day support to sourcing teams in producing customer deliverables and achieving project milestones.
Participate in sourcing initiatives aimed at improving productivity and efficiency to support company and account growth.
Lead smaller purchasing/sourcing events for respective commodities or categories.
Solicit bids for and provide detailed assessments of bolt-on demand management software and services to be used by Beacon Roofing supply.
Establish a demand management process with divisional participation providing accurate SKU and vendor level forecasts for each of Beacon's 13 regions.
Actively participate in cross functional, cross divisional problem identification and problem solving events held 2-3 times per year.
Develop system subject matter expertise - become the go to person for the supply chain with respect to systems data and systems processes.
Work with the IT team so streamline, simplify and improve supply chain systemic process to enhance customer service and productivity.
Actively work with the pricing and incentive teams to analyze and optimize data and processes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Minimum 5 years of systems experience in a purchasing/sourcing environment, preferably within the distribution industry.
Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Purchasing, Business, Finance or related degree.
Experience working with vendor incentives and rebate programs.
Demonstrated leadership skills and process orientation.
Strong project management skills.
Preferred experience in Mincron, Intellichief operating systems.
Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity.
Demonstrate thought leadership and execute.
Strong influencing and coaching skills. Proven experience team participation and engagement.
Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment, to effectively communicate with and influence all levels of the organization and drive change.
Solid understanding of and experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis with financial analysis acumen.
Strategic sourcing experience within a Fortune 500 company or a leading consultancy or in any manufacturing operations or supply chain position
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Access tools
Understanding of strategic sourcing, process/supplier implementation and change management best practices preferred.
Knowledge of procurement operations preferred
Knowledge of contract language is required
Partner with Accounts Receivables on check management.
Analyze and interpret company and Ad Hoc reporting.
Must be able to think and act strategically.
Periodic travel will be required.
