Quality Technician

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc., one of the largest metals distributors in the US, is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team in Goldsboro, NC. Reporting to the Quality Manager, responsibilities include:
Audit incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspection and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Audit first piece article inspection procedures, perform PPAP measurements by confirming specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to supervision & operators. Audit raw, WIP, stock and finished products by confirming specifications. Conducting visual and measurement tests. Document both internal and customer specifications and expectations. Keep files of documentation. Review MP's and documentation for accuracy, conformance to specifications and scrap. Document inspection results by completing inspection reports and logs, summarize excess waste, input data into quality data base. Conduct internal audits, capability studies, conduct or assist in PPAP's, write corrective actions, oversee implementation of corrective actions, audit supplies as needed, work with mill tech reps to resolve problems and/or claims. Update job knowledge by participating in educational programs. Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
HS Diploma or GED required Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a quality related position Good communication skills Detail oriented

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
